Green Tavush Enviro Education

2004-2010: Green Tavush has provided 30 environmental education presentations to 30 schools throughout Tavush Marz.

Green Tavush Eco-Clubs

2004-2010: 84 children have participated in Green Tavush Eco-Clubs.

5 urban and 429 rural waste dumps which fail to meet basic sanitation and hygiene requirements. 11 urban waste sites and 178 local sites which operate illegally. Around 36 million tons of waste is generated annually. (Source Green Tavush Trash Clean-Ups

2004-2010: Green Tavush has run 51 community trash cleanups, involving 700 Armenian youth from 32 communities.

Green Camps

2004-2010: Almost 1500 Armenian youth have attended Green Camps across Armenia.

Environmental Resource Center

The Green Tavush Resource Center provides a location where the community can gather to learn about environmental protection and discuss their environmental concerns. The community also has access to 4 computers, 3 donated by the Armenia Support project. 16 videos and other material have been translated into Armenian by the center. It is used for Eco Clubs, preperation of camps, community meetings and the computers are availible to local kids to learn about computers.

The resource center has been developed by Green Tavush in cooperation with Peace Corps volunteers, Armenian Support project, USAID SPA program, and the City of Ijevan which has provided the buildong. This year we look forward to installing gas heat and internet access. The center is also reciving a digital projector for use in presentation both in the center and at schools and other orginizations..
