Green Tavush Camp Statistice2004-2010: ForestsSince 1993, over 100,000 hectares of Armenia‘s forests have been lost due to unregulated cutting. Only 8% of Armenia's land is now covered with forest. If the current rate of deforestation continues, Armenia will have no forests left by WastewaterArmenia has 9,480 small and large rivers totalling about 23,000 km. 60% of wastewater is discharged into open basins without treatment. Green Camps 2010Green Tavush is proud to announce the completion of this year's Green Camp season. From August 13th-19th, the final Advanced Environmental Leadership Camp was held in Ijevan, Tavush Marz, Armenia. 40 outstanding Armenian youth representing fourteen different communities and five regions were selected to participate in this developmental program, assisted by United States Peace Corps staff and volunteers. Green Tavush would like to extend its congratulations to everyone who participated in making this year's round of Green Camps the most successful yet.
